The app has no power to make you do anything. It measures and shows the record, without encouragement or comment.

Deciding to start is easy to mistake for starting. Installing feels like progress, but the record is empty and the first point is tomorrow's. Most people who install an app like this stop within a fortnight. This one will not notice, and will not ask you back.

If you already have some discipline, it shows you its shape. If you have none, it shows that too. About two weeks will tell you which.

• No telemetryNo analytics and no crash reports. Even the fonts are served from the app's own folder.

Your record

It lives on your device

The record sits in your browser's storage on the device you use, and there is no other copy. Clearing browser data clears the record, so take an export now and then. That file is the only backup, and it holds your whole record, so keep it somewhere you choose.

Operating the record

Four things worth knowing

• The record has vanishedBrowser storage was cleared. Import your latest export file; without one, the record is gone. Why.
• Backing it upOn the Contract screen, Send record off this device opens your phone's share sheet and Download saves the file. Do it regularly, especially on iPhone.
• Moving to a new phoneExport on the old one, install on the new one, import the file. Everything moves, amendments and exceptions included.
• Deleting everythingClear the site's data in your browser, or remove the app. Permanent and immediate, so export first if you might want it back.
