What you may do with it
Yours to run, not to sell
Arizodo is free. Open it, install it to your home screen, keep it there and run it for the rest of your life — for your own personal use, that is all permitted and none of it needs asking. You do not owe me a payment, a registration or an acknowledgement, and I have no way of knowing you are running it even if you wanted me to.
What is not permitted is passing it on as a product. You may not redistribute it, publish it, sell it, put it in an app store, wrap it in advertising, charge for access to it, or release a modified version of it under this name or any other. The copyright in the code, the text, the belt mark and the name stays with me, and nothing on this site transfers any part of it to anyone.
Ideas are a different matter. If Arizodo makes you want to build your own instrument for your own practice, build it — measure what you like, borrow the arithmetic, take the shape of the thing. That is not something I would want to stop even if I could. The line is between being inspired by this and shipping this.
The code is readable, and that is not an oversight. Arizodo runs entirely in your browser, so every file it uses is already on your device the moment you open it. Anyone can read it. That is how the web works and it is not something I have tried to prevent — the app carries no obfuscation and no minification, because a record-keeping instrument you cannot inspect is one you have to take on trust. What is above restricts what you may do with the code, not whether you may look at it.
Who may use it
No account, and no one under eighteen
There is nothing to register for. No account is created, no address is verified and no age is checked, because the app collects nothing and could not check anything if it wanted to. What follows is therefore a condition of use rather than something enforced by a form.
Arizodo is for adults. Do not use it if you are under eighteen. It scores eating and the body, it has no safeguards, and there is nobody supervising its use — and the same reasoning that puts a warning on the disclaimer below applies with more force to anybody still growing.
There is no subscription and no purchase. Nothing is sold, no payment is taken, nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel or refund. If you ever meet a page asking you to pay for Arizodo, it is not mine.
Your use can end at any time, from either side. You stop by closing it or removing it; your record goes with the storage it was written to. I may stop publishing arizodo.com at any point without notice, which would leave any installed copy running exactly as it is — the app is already on your device and does not check in with anything.
What I promise
Nothing, and I mean that literally
Arizodo is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. I do not promise that it is free of defects, that it will keep working, that it will work on your device, that it will still exist next year, or that any figure it shows you is correct. It is one person's tool, given away in the state it happens to be in.
To the fullest extent the law allows, I accept no liability for anything that follows from using it — lost records, wrong numbers, wasted effort, a decision you made because of something on the screen, or any loss of any kind, whether or not I could have foreseen it. If Arizodo turns out to be broken, the remedy available to you is to stop using it, and it is the only one.
None of this is an attempt to be clever about it. It is free software given away as it is, and it comes with exactly the guarantees that description implies.
Use it only if you accept that. If you think an app that scores sleep, eating and exertion could be bad for your health, your mind or your device, then it is bad for you and the right decision is to skip it. That judgement is yours to make before you start, and this page is where it is put to you.
What it is not
It is not medical, health or fitness advice
Arizodo does not know anything about you. It has no model of health, no notion of what is good for a body, and no opinion about what your standard should be. You write the standard; the app does arithmetic on whether you met it. It never advises, and a number going up is not evidence that anything is going well.
It is not a medical device and nothing in it is diagnostic. If you have a health condition, are recovering from one, are pregnant, are under eighteen, or are taking medication that interacts with sleep, food or exertion, decide your standard with a doctor rather than with this. Do not use a score in this app as a reason to eat less, sleep less, train through an injury, or override what your body is telling you.
A scoring instrument can be turned against yourself. Anything that puts a number on eating and on the body can feed a disorder rather than a discipline. If tracking has been part of an eating disorder or a compulsion for you before, this app is a risk and not a tool, and the honest recommendation is not to install it. If you are struggling with that now, speak to a doctor or contact the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline.
The rest
Changes, name and law
Arizodo, アリゾ道 and the belt mark are mine and are not covered by anything above. A copy you run for yourself may carry them; anything you build and give to other people may not.
These terms can change, and the version on this page is the one that applies. There is no notification mechanism and there cannot be one: nothing here knows who you are, so there is nobody to notify. If that matters to you, the page is dated and reading it again costs nothing.
Where a law that applies to you as a consumer gives you rights that cannot be contracted away, those rights stand and the rest of this page stands with them. If any part of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
